Mobili considers wood selection to be one of the most critical steps in crafting a piece of furniture. Hand selecting each piece of wood artistically gives our furniture its soul. Mobili carefully selects wood for each part to find the character and color that gives the truest sense of the piece and overall look for that customer, bringing authenticity, balance and beauty to every thing we do.

Joinery
Craftsmen who wanted their work to endure created joining two pieces of wood together centuries ago. These are mortise-and-tenon joints, dovetail joints, dowels, and half-lap joints. Mobili uses this joinery because it still remains as strong and sturdy now as it did hundreds of years ago.

While joinery is essential, the trained and intuitive hand of a skilled craftsperson ensures the integrity of our furniture to last for generations.
